What was the reason for his departure all those years ago?Don't think it
was acrimonious as Dieter features on the one Carlos Peron CD i have
(Impersonator 3)

I don't remember for sure. Jonas would be able to answer this much better. But I think it was just a conflict of interest? I think Carlos wanted to start his own studio and wasn't interested in where YELLO was going. I personally don't like any of his solo music.

I thought Carlos left as he didn't have very much to do once Boris finished the music. Apart from Blue Green and Stanztrigger, no other Yello track was credited as being written by him. I think he wanted to write more music, so he split from Yello.

I have several of his albums, and I like some of his music, but the quality of the composing can be quite variable - for example, the soundtrack to 'Terminatrix' is terrible, while 'TranceTrueMental' (co-written with Chico Hablas) is great.

Interesting...

Which one, in your ears, would you recommend if one were to look for a yello'-ish music?

I kinda like what he has to offer samplewise on his website

A Hit Song by Carlos Peron is quite Yello'ish. Quite comical, and with a special "sound".

Hi to everyone in the forum, by the way!!

My Carlos Peron favorite was and is "la salle blanche"
It is a mixture of Yello - Enigma and that special luscious Carlos Peron beat. The track is about 30 minutes long, and a very good background music for doing certain things in bed with your partner (hope this does not offend anybody on the list )

Ciao.

It's only taken two weeks to reply!

I would suggest the following albums to start:

Gold for Iron (1989)
TranceTrueMental (1993) (contains a reworked version of 'Blue Green')

My favorite is Motorman. He really shows his Yello roots.
It's like a cross between The Race and Bostich.

Carlos Peron loves to say that "Motorman" was written in 1983
- and "the Race" came out in 1998....

...then why did he wait until 1989 to release it? :?

Which 'official' web page are you referring to?

The 'real' official site http://www.carlosperon.de/ has recently added a shop to buy mp3s. Short samples of some of the tracks are free to download. (I have downloaded the samples but haven't bought anything.)

The 'fake' official site at http://www.move.de/amm/carlosd.html hasn't been touched for years - I assume this is the site you saw.

Actually I am sure that not much has happend on either of the sites. I am sure to have seen this picture long time ago

And the "Shop" link isn't working. In my opinion the Carlor Peron website is pretty crappy.

The Shop Link worked for me . Just takes a long time to load.

It works for me too now.

"Liquid eternal legs"

This is about as far from Yello you can get.

Indeed, there is a consensus among some music
critics that YELLO lost their edge once he departed.

Haha, yeah right.
