I'm greatly disappointed about a furthur delay. It's already been 5 years since The Eye and it's due time for another album. I hope that in meantime we get to enjoy the new Grace Jones album "Hurricane" and hope that she would work with Yello in the future. I've always secretly wished that Grace would've sung all those vocal parts instead of Billy McKenzie.

From Jonas Wårstad,

Hello everyone, finally some good news! Yello fan Thomas Muegeli
told me that the Swiss daily "punkt" paper (www.punkt.ch) published a report
on Yello in their 23rd Oct issue (page 16). Here is a direct link:

http://redaktion.punkt.ch/fileadmin/use ... 081023.pdf

Thomas kindly translated the important parts (slightly edited/corrected by
me):

- new album with working title "Touch" will be released in February 2009
- Boris says it's going to sound like Yello but much more mature
- additional musicians are Till Broenner on trumpet and swiss singer Heidy
Happy
- one song would have been the perfect song for the new Bond movie
and the director (with Swiss roots as well) was interested, but when
Yello
finally submitted the song, the movie had already been finished!

My comments:

1. Finally it is coming out!!
2. What a great pity the world could not hear YELLO in the new Bond film!!

If anyone hears or sees any other (confirmed) news, please let me know
and I will forward it to the list. Thanks!

Best to all, J

I'm not sure if I like that name quite as much, but it certainly feels more "Yello".

That's the vibe I got from Progress & Perfection. Lots of slower cinematic instrumentals (particularly "Umbria" & "Pacific Rim"). I wonder how many songs on the album will actually have vocals?

Too bad. That could have been a real popularity booster. It would have been a long time since Yello had been involved in something that high profile, especially with a song that wasn't "Oh Yeah".

Yello haven't updated their website since 2005 which I think is a bit lame. I know that they are not into marketing / publicity as other bands... but three years?

I'm a big fan but they need to sort out their publicity and marketing - if not for the fans! Where is the facebook page / the 'official' YouTube channel etc?

Come on guys.....

(Rant over)

They did update the site when the remasters came out and when Oh Yeah Oh Six was released.

Publicity etc.

I was thinking more along the lines of regular updates on their website. Some bands give regular updates (news / blogs etc.) on upcoming releases for their fans. Not so much Yello.

For example - I'm a big fan of the Prodigy and their website has pretty much everything news / cd/mp3 shop / history / offical bio etc. None of these exist on Yello's site.

(Second rant over!)

As we can read, rumours had it long before we were discussing about "Ultra Delores" etc...

Btw. I totally agree to Yellows meaning about Yello updates!

Hi Guys. Looks like I haven't posted here in almost three years! Looking forward to a new album, be it "Touch," or "Ultra Dolores." Been trying to find links to download Progress & Perfection, or indeed anything else linked with that project. Can anyone help me out?

TIA! :D
