Oldest track?
Does anyone know what the oldest Yello track (including pre-Dieter Meier stuff) to ever get beyond the studio is?
Shooting the Dark (a collaboration with Carlos Perón from 1978. Released (without Boris' knowledge) by Carlos Peron in 2001 on his double-CD 'BEST OF ... VOL. II - PORCELLUM TRAIANUM')
Also on the flipside of I.T. Splash was Gluehead but an early version of Gluehead was released called "Bluehead" but it was released in 1982 on a UK 7".
She's Got a Gun 3.42/Bluehead 2.26 [early mix of 'Glue Head'] (Do It Records, DUN 18)

I don't know anything about the origin of this file, but the quality of sound reminds an old 7'' single

You have a mis-named file. Bluehead is an early version of Gluehead.
This is common mistake because the originally released I.T. Splash 12" had the names for the A side and B side transposed.
The original I.T. Splash was 8 seconds longer which you can notice at the end of the track the lyrics continue where other versions stop.

June 1979 Swiss 12" I.T. Splash
I.T. Splash 2.48/Glue Head 2.57 (Periphery Perfume, PP 0179)
By mistake the B-side 'Glue Head' was engraved on side A, and vice versa.

Thanks for the file. Do you have any other rare material? If not, where did you find that?

In 1977 Peron & Blank were recording as 'Tranceonic', before they met Dieter Meier & changed their name to Yello. 'Shooting In The Dark' is available at www.carlosperon.de online shop

Impersonator II has the song "Happy New Year" containing vocals by Dieter.
Impersonator 3 has the song "Kung Fu Pogo" which also contains Dieter vocals.
Talks To The Nations has "Yellowed Vs. Yello - You Gotta Say Yes to Another Excess"
Carlos's "Motor Man" is very similar to "The Race" There are several remixes of it on "Gold For Iron"
